Letters to Electra - Breaking My Perfect Attendance Record

30/07/14

Dear Electra,

I have broken my perfect attendance record for this year by staying at home recovering from my dizziness and sore throat. There has been a positive outcome from it though; I have fully recovered. I didn't just stay in bed all day and did nothing; I still did my maths homework and helped around the house. I wonder what happened today at school...

Nothing much happened today, or this week that I'd like to tell you, but I promise that next week will be much informative. See you, Electra!

Letters to Electra - Rage

23/07/14

Dear Electra,

I have reached that peak of my life where I begin to judge self-esteem, other people's views about me and the activity on the social media. Am I becoming paranoid and anxious? Everytime the popular girl from my year level posts on Instagram I think, "why the heck did she show her leg when she was intending to share a picture of her new diary?" and have this strange urge to push her off a cliff.

Other than thinking of pushing popular girls off cliffs, I haven't told you that there has been a feud between the Three Musketeers. the Three Musketeers do not exist anymore as one Musketeer decided to have other friends, leaving the two-thirds of the group alone. But once in option class when I wasn't there Gwen was so happy talking to our other classmates that Regina wanted to join in. When Gwen told me the story I replied that people do that when they're in need of company, especially extroverts like Regina. It's simple psychology I've noticed in our school full of extroverts. As I write to you everyone is talking to their friend or a teacher and it's a couple of minutes before form period starts. I'll write to you next week once something interesting happens. See you, Electra!

Letters to Electra - Fascinated About Schizophrenia

16/07/14

Dear Electra,

I had this dream about this blog. My friend and I were at a house party of our parents' friend and we wanted to talk in private so we went downstairs to the basement. We both sat down on a couch and talked. I don't remember what we talked about, but after talking he climbed upstairs to grab his iPad and I was left sitting on the couch reading a book I had with me. He came back and played a video of Cory Matthews and I was having a fangirl attack. I asked him how he knew about my obsession with Boy Meets World and he went onto the EAM page and showed me the post about Cory's poem! He reads my blog! I actually didn't know that people read my blog. After that I woke up.

On a different page, tonight I found out about how schizophrenia affects people who have it. The disorder is very terrifying. Imagine having loud voices in your head that you can't control! After discovering it I nearly cried. I consider myself to be worthy of being able to control my thoughts. I'm totally looking forward to studying mental disabilities when I become a social researcher.

Letters to Electra - BMW, BMW, BMW

9/07/14

Dear Electra,

My brain is filled with BMW stuff (not the car, but the TV show) and I cannot get it out of my head! I've been spending my holidays watching marathons of it! HELP ME!

This is a poem by Cory Matthews called 'Frustration'.

COME ON, TOPANGAAA!

This is another poem also by Cory Matthews called 'Mr. Feeny'.

Mr Feeny is very smart.
On many subjects, including art.
And yet he can't help me with my frustration
COME ON, TOPANGAAAAA!

Yup, I didn't write that; he did. But I made this Cory version of one of his poems. Read:

All day long I think of you.
How do you do, the things you do?
I love you boy, with all of my heart.
Because you're HANDSOME, and you're smart.
CORY.

I basically changed the 'girl' into 'boy', 'PRETTY' into 'HANDSOME', and 'TOPANGA' into 'CORY'.

Now, let's quit talking about Boy Meets World.
I watched Catching Fire last night, and I can say that The Hunger Games is thrilling. No wonder why my friends are die-hard about it. Other than people constantly dying, I enjoyed it. I have read a little bit of the first book, but I still don't understand much of what's going on during the movie. Besides that, I am extremely excited for Mockingjay Part I. Eeek!

Letters To Electra - Delicious But Expensive

2/07/13

Dear Electra,

The algebra test we took today was difficult. I'm not even sure if my expressions were correct! My class and I are watching Apollo 13 in science class instead of learning about the planets. I never knew Tom Hanks had a role in this film. Anyway, my dad's birthday is tomorrow and we're going to eat at this nice cafe. My family and I hardly get the chance to eat at this cafe because we don't eat outdoors much unless there's an emergency and it's expensive. Quality, not quantity.

Apollo 13 Fact:
To launch the spaceship to the moon, they used less technology than a modern wrist watch.

Words to put into word bank:
Reconnoitre (verb) - To locate an enemy or ascertain strategic features.
Grandiose (adjective) - Producing or meant to produce an imposing effect.
